Table Lamps

If your looking for an easy way to instant home decor updates, look no further than an upgrade to your lighting. The easiest way to achieve this is the use of table lamps.

Thanks to the many design shows, such as those found on HGTV, Americans are taking more notice of their homes decor and are willing to improve their living spaces.

Lighting manufacturers have taken note of this and are creating a variety of table lamps in many different styles, shapes, forms and textures. These include metal finishes, ranging from polished steel to bronze and pewter. One design expert is quoted as saying the new textures give the table lamps "a lot of personality and a lot of soul."

Color in table lamps is being used more now, too. These range from pale orange to aqua, bright colors and iridescents.

Table lamp designs are going with simpler looks and more natural materials, like wood, ceramic, brass, iron, marble and slate.

Lampshades are also undergoing a change, getting away from white and cream bell forms and pleats and used more color. Shades for table lamps are being created from form paper more often today for the lightness and texture. Also gaining in popularity are murano glass shades.

Smaller table lamps are being used for ambiance, being placed in different places such as bookshelves and windowsills.

Table lamp prices have decrease making it possible for people to change their lamps as a way to update their decor. Fewer people are buying lamps and keeping them forever.
